Katla comes from Kersins kennel, bred by Helga Gústavsdóttir. Katla is born January 11th 2002 but her parents are Ýrar Akkur (HD FRI*, healthy eyes) and Melkolku Brenda (HD FRI A, healthy eyes).
Katla has been very successful in the showring in Iceland and had 3 certs to become a Champion before she was 2 years old whitch is very rare for an Icelandic Sheepdog in Iceland. She became Icelandic Champion in the first show after she was 2 years old. That show was in the spring of 2004 but the Icelandic Sheepdog was judged by the breed specialist Guđrún Guđjohnsen. Katla became BOB, won the group and became Best in show over all breeds!
Katla is the mother of Sunna Rögg and also the S- og Br-litters.
We lost Katla way too early but she died July 4th 2009, only 7,5 years old. Katla had great temperament and was a great familydog and friend in every way.
